Update 19th December

Today's 9 hole stableford was won by David Wynne with 23pts, in second was Dave Purser with 22pts (c/b), while in third was Vincent Egan also with 22pts. 

In upcoming fixtures, the annual Christmas Scramble will be held on Tuesday 27th December.  The draw is at 12.45pm with a shotgun start at 1pm.

Update 12th December

Results
The Christmas bonanza was held on Sunday with a large number of members participating. Forty point was the mark required for the gents to feature in the top three. First prize went to Paul Connolly (18) 40pts, on a countback from John McGuinn (9) 40pts & Lionel Lynn (20) 40pts. The gross prize went to Lorcan Egan. In the ladies section, first place went to Sandra McCrann, in second was Regina McLoughlin & in third was Mary O'Hara.
 
Monthly Draws
The club's monthly draws also took place on Sunday for October-December. The winners were John & Claire Cryan, Seamus & Marie Gallagher & Denis & Mary O'Donnell. The runners up were Liam Mullaney, Denis & Mary O'Donnell (again!), Michael Gilmartin, Padraig O'Connell, Gerry Carty & Jonathan Egan. Thanks to all who entered these draws.

Update 4th December

The final turkey voucher of the year took place on Sunday with the standard of scoring remaining high. In first place was Club Captain Gerry O’Hara (20) with 24pts, in second was Liam Whyte (13) 23pts, while Paul Connolly (18) took third on a countback  with 22pts.
Last week’s Winter Open competition was won by Liam Mullaney (15) with 22pts. 

This upcoming Sunday 11th  December the club’s most significant winter competition, the ‘Christmas Bonanza’ will take place. The format is an 18 hole stableford for ladies and gents with a prize for all players that take part. The timesheet for the competition is now live with tee times available between 8.50am and 12.30pm in 10 minute intervals. Members are advised to book early to ensure their preferred tee time. It will be followed that evening by the presentation which will take place at 5pm. 
The weekly winter open 9 hole competition also continues again this week. 


The monthly meetings of the men’s and ladies’ clubs will take place on Wednesday evening in the clubhouse at 8.30pm. The management committee meeting will be held directly afterwards.

Update 27th November

Sunday’s 9 Hole Turkey Voucher was won by Lorcan Egan (9) courtesy of a level par nine for 23pts, in second was Sean Heslin (9) with 22pts (c/b), and in third was Pat Conroy (18) also on 22pts. 
The presentation of these vouchers along with other outstanding prizes will take place on the evening of December 11th – which is the date for this year’s Christmas Bonanza. 

The fixtures for this week are the weekly open 9 hole (Mon – Sat), with the fifth and final of the Turkey Vouchers on Sunday. 

A WhatsApp Group for the men’s club has been set up recently to aid with the arranging of playing partners.
It is hoped members will engage with this platform to arrange their games. Contact Gary Carty if you have not received the link to access it.

Update 20th November

Sunday's turkey voucher 9 hole competition went ahead as scheduled with the cold conditions not deterring those players who took to the fairways of Boyle Golf Club. First prize went to Michael Reid (16) 23pts, in second was Michael Simon (15) 21pts, while Lorcan Egan (9) took third on a countback with 20pts.

Last week's Winter Open competition fell foul of the weather. 

The fixtures for this week are the Winter Open 9 hole competition (Mon-Sat), with the fourth in the series of turkey vouchers up for grabs on Sunday next. 
  
The annual handicap review took place in the clubhouse on Sunday evening. Updates to relevant handicaps will be posted to the club noticeboard in the upcoming days along with the golfers being contacted directly

Update 14th November

Last Sunday the second 8 hole turkey voucher competition took place with the standard of scoring being exceptionally high. In first place was Paul Connolly with 22pts whose card featured birdies on the index one second hole and also on the ninth. In second was Jim Dwyer with 21pts - an impressive score which normally would be enough for top spot while in third was Liam Whyte who had the best of the 20 points to beat two other players on the same score. 

The weekly winter open competition was won by Michael Rush with 19pts. 

This week the winter open competition will continue (Mon-Sat), and the third of the turkey vouchers will take place next Sunday. The format for both are 8 hole stablefords with re-entry. The 7th hole remains closed due to work being carried out on that green. 

The AGM of the parent club of Boyle Golf Club took place in the clubhouse last Sunday. At the meeting, the Captain for 2016 Ross Andrew vacated the seat as chairperson and was filled by his successor Gerry O'Hara. The club wishes to thank Ross for serving as Captain over the past year with distinction and wishes Gerry the best of luck and success in the role for the upcoming year. 


The meeting also saw the stepping down of club treasurer Michael Gilmartin who served in this position for the past five years. The club is indebted to him for his great work to ensure the club's finances are in a healthy position and we wish to express sincere gratitude to Michael for this.

Results
The first of the turkey voucher competitions was held last Sunday. It was an 8 hole stableford which was won by Gary Carty with 17pts.  In second was Tommy King with 16pts, and third was Michael Rush also with 16pts.
The weekly winter open competition was won by Sean Heslin with 19pts, with Seamus Gallagher in second on 18pts.

AGM

The AGM of the men’s and ladies’ club was held in the clubhouse last Sunday. This upcoming Sunday the AGM of the Parent Club will be held in the clubhouse at 5pm. All members are invited to attend. The financial statements for the year are available to view on the club website.

Winter League

The first round of the Winter League took place at the weekend. In a three way tie for the lead are the teams led by Patrick Egan, Charlie O’Donnell and Brendan Gaffney all of whom returned a score of 116 from their best three cards. The best scores for each format were as follows:

Update 28th September

Results
The rescheduled Boyle Motor Works Cup took place last Sunday. The winners came from the final group of the day, with Brendan Gaffney & Susan O’Mahoney’s score of 62.5 pipping the pairing of Ross Andrew and Marie Hanmore-Cawley by half a shot. In third place was the combination of Patrick Egan and Claire Cryan with 66. 
A club outing to New Forest Golf Club was held last Saturday. The top three players all recorded the same score of 32pts, with Paul Connolly emerging the winner on a countback. Vincent Egan and Ross Andrew took second and third prizes respectively while the ladies prize was won by Liz Dwyer. Thanks to Michael Rush for arranging the outing. 
Last week’s weekly 9 hole stableford was won by Michael Rush with 22pts. In second place was Terry Canning with 21pts.

Presentations
Presentations were made on Sunday evening to prizewinners of a number of different competitions. In addition to those competitions detailed above, prizes were awarded for the Golfer of the Year and the King Harmon Cup. Similar to McIlroy picking up two trophies in Atlanta at the weekend, it was experienced golfer Seamus Gallagher who was the recipient of these two pieces of silverware at Knockadoobrusna on Sunday evening! Both accolades recognise consistent quality play over the course of the season. The runner up in the King Harmon matchplay was Seamus’ club foursomes partner Jonathan Egan. In the race for Golfer of the Year, Seamus held off the challenge of former title holder Gary Carty, and that of Sean Heslin, who finished in second and third place. Congratulations to Seamus on a very successful golfing year.

Update 5th September

Results
The King Cup was held on Sunday last. In first place was Paul Connolly (19) with 43pts, in second was Tommy King (23) with 42pts, the gross was won by Gary Carty (5) with 32pts, and in third was Eamon Perry (21) with 41pts points. 

Friday evening’s scramble was won by Gary Carty, Michael Reid and Tommy King with 3 under par. 

Joyce Boles’ Lady President’s Prize was held on Sunday 28th August. The results of the competition were as follows:

Fixtures
The weekly 9 hole stableford competition returns this week. It can be played any day Monday through to Saturday. Entry is €5, re-entry €3. 
This upcoming weekend the Boyle Motor Works Cup – 18 Hole Scotch Mixed Foursomes competition will take place. Players can play either Saturday or Sunday. For assistance arranging partners contact competition secretary Michael Rush. 

Club Outing
An outing has been arranged to New Forest Golf Club on Saturday 24th September. The cost is €40 for a round of golf and dinner. Please put your name on the sheet provided on the noticeboard if you wish to go.   

Golfer of the Year
A fifth place finish in the King Cup for Seamus Gallagher was sufficient for him to secure the title for 2016 with one event yet to be played. This caps off a great golfing year for Seamus having won the the club matchplay title – The King Harmon Cup and the first major of the year – The Committee Cup. These results along with other notable performances have ensured that Seamus takes the accolade for this year. Well done Seamus!

The highlight of the weekend at Boyle GC was the hosting of the James Shivnan Memorial Golf Challenge. The wet conditions did not deter the large field of players, a testament to how well James was universally liked and fondly remembered. The results of the event are as follows:

A Golfer of the Year Strokeplay Competition was held on Sunday with Seamus Gallagher returning the best score on 67 nett. In second was Club Captain Ross Andrew on the same score, gross went to Gary Carty with 72, and in third was Michael Rush with 69 nett. This result will put Seamus in a strong position on the GOY leaderboard with only three events remaining.

Results
Sunday’s Lorcan Egan Insurance sponsored 18 hole stroke was won by Sean Heslin (10) with a 63 nett, in second was Vincent Egan (18) 64 nett, gross went to Charlie O’Donnell on 73, and in third was Seamus Gallagher (21) 66 nett. The win brings Sean right into contention in the Golfer of the Year competition considering he is guaranteed extra points for the King Harmon matchplay.

Saturday’s last person standing competition was won by Pat Conroy, who finished on the 19th hole. Michael Rush was second also finishing on the same hole. The ladies prize was won by Regina McLoughlin (17th Hole). 

Thursday’s men’s weekly competition was won by Seamus Gallagher with 21pts. In second was Dave Purser with 20pts.

Update 3rd August

Captain’s Prize
The Captain’s Day for 2016 took place last Sunday with a large number of members competing for Ross Andrew’s Prize. The best score after the first 18 holes was brought in by student member Cillian Doyle with an excellent 60 nett. David Wynne was two shots further back on 62 while this year’s President’s Prize winner Tommy King sat in sole third on 64 nett. The cut for the third nine fell at 68 with 15 players inside this mark. It was Brendan Gaffney who emerged from the chasing pack adding a 33 over the final 9 holes to his starting score of 66 for a total of 99. This proved to be a target that was unable to be beaten by any of the other 14 players. This is Brendan’s second major victory adding to his win in the 2015 edition of the event. 

A guess the winner competition was held on the day with Jim Mooney being the only person to predict correctly. The proceeds of this competition goes to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice. 

At the presentation Brendan expressed his delight at winning the Captain’s Prize and thanked all the various personnel involved in making the day a success. He commented on the close knit nature of the club and the importance of the strong sense of friendship within it. He also wished us to remember those who are no longer able to be active in club circles due to ill health. 

The presentation of prizes included the Captain’s Prize to the ladies which was held the previous Sunday where Liz Dwyer claimed the top prize. 

Also a presentation was made to Gary Carty in recognition of his course record score of three under par on President’s day.

Our Interclub season has come to a close with a defeat in the first round to Ballaghaderreen on Tuesday. It was a closely fought contest with the deciding match going against us on the 20th hole.

Golfer of the Year

With double points being allocated for the Captain’s Prize, Brendan Gaffney has leapfrogged his way into 2nd place on 67 points. Gary Carty continues to lead on 74 points. Sunday will provide another opportunity for players to gain valuable GOY points.

The Junior cup team competed in the north zone qualifier in Carrick on Shannon last Saturday. The team were unfortunate not to reach Sunday’s matchplay stage missing the cut of 333 by just 6 shots.

The King Harmon has reached the last 8 competitors. Quarter final matches are to be played by July 30th.

Update 4th July

Results
The Fore Club Alliance competition took place last weekend. Forty points proved to the mark required to feature in the top three. The best of the 40’s came from Pat Brogan who edged out Jonathan Egan and David Wynne on the countback who were second and third respectively. The gross prize went to six handicapper Aidan Grealish from Strokestown. 

The men’s 12 hole open competition on Thursday was won by Owen Garvin 28pts. In second place was Colm Connolly also on 28pts. 

Friday’s Scramble was won by the team of Charlie O Donnell, Tommy King & Marian Ahern. 

Open Week Fixtures
• Monday (4th July): Our annual Open Week gets underway on  with a nine hole stroke for ladies & gents. 
• Tuesday is Ladies Day with the competition being an 18 hole stableford. There will also be a 9 hole stableford for gents.
• Wednesday there will be a mixed scotch foursomes competition. The handicap is half of the combined total. 
• Thursday is Men’s Day with an 18 hole competition to be played in strokeplay format. A 9 hole stableford for ladies will also take place.
• Friday there will be a 9 hole stableford for both ladies and gents.
• Saturday is a Fourball Betterball and any combination is permitted. Each player will play off 9/10 of their handicap.
• Sunday: The closing competition of Open Week will be an 18 hole Stroke for ladies and gents

Interclub Golf
The Jack O’Sullivan team bowed out of the competition at the hands of Ballymote on Thursday last on a scoreline of 3 matches to 2. 
The Junior Cup team lead by Gary Carty will compete in the Junior Cup in Carrick on Shannon this upcoming weekend. It is a five man team played off scratch, and no player with a handicap of less than 5 in the previous year may compete. The team will attempt to qualify from Saturday’s strokeplay, for Sunday’s matchplay stage. 
In news related to this, the team captain managed to lead home a field of many of the competitors last Sunday in Carrick’s Junior Scatch Cup. Well done to other Boyle players – Brendan Gaffney, Sean Heslin & Charlie O’Donnell who also placed highly.

Monthly Draws
The May/June draws took place in the clubhouse on Sunday evening.

‘Get Into Golf’
The final week of the kids ‘Get into Golf’ program will go ahead this Wednesday evening, with the two time slots remaining the same: 6-7pm & 8-9pm. Participants will receive their certificate of completion from the CGI on the evening along with a golf related goodie bag.

The Lady Captain's Day took centre stage on Sunday with 27 holes being played to determine the winner of Tish Perry's prize. Congratulations to Claire Cryan who emerged victorious on the day and also well done to all the other prizewinners. On Friday, the Lady Captain's Scramble and barbecue took place. The winning team was Brendan Gaffney, Lionel Lynn, Criona O’Donnell. 
Last Thursday's gent's open 12 hole was won by Michael Rush with 28pts. In second was Michael Simon 27 pts, and Terry Canning completed the top three also on 27pts.

Fixtures
This upcoming Saturday and Sunday (July 2nd & 3rd) the Fore Club Alliance competition will take place. The alliance comprises of ourselves and three neighbouring 9 hole courses - Ballaghaderreen, Castlerea & Strokestown. We invite all members from the aforementioned clubs to come and play on either of these days. The course is in great condition right now so you're sure to enjoy your visit! Format is an 18 hole stableford and tee booking is available through the club website. 
Other competitions scheduled for this week include the men's open competition on Thursday and Friday evening's scramble (draw 6.30pm). 
Open Week 
Open Week is only one week away now. Thanks to all those who have given their sponsorship to help ensure it will be a success. It is very much appreciated!  The week opens with a 9 hole stroke on Monday 4th July for ladies and gents. Tuesday July 5th is Ladies Day (18 hole stableford), with a 9 hole stableford for gents. Bar & Catering facilities will be available each day. The remainder of the schedule to be covered in next week's report.

Interclub Golf
Commiserations to the Jimmy Bruen team who exited the competition on Saturday in the zone final at the hands of Tubbercurry. 
Attention now turns to the Jack O'Sullivan team captained by Sean Heslin who commence their campaign on Thursday with an away tie against Ballymote.

Club Matchplay
Well done to Jonathan Egan and Seamus Gallagher who retained their club foursomes title on Wednesday last, comprehensively defeating Willie Tiernan and Michael Gilmartin in the final. 
A reminder to players involved in round three matches in the King Harmon Cup, the deadline for those matches is Saturday July 2nd. 

Get Into Golf
Professional tuition with Peter Duignan returns this Wednesday evening. It is week 4 of the 5 week program for kids. The two time slots are 6-7pm and 8-9pm. 
Peter will also be conducting ladies and gents group lessons for beginners and improvers from 7-8pm on Wednesday. The cost of the session is €8 and newcomers are always very welcome. It is open to all - you don't have to be a member. Contact Gary on 0860682116 for more info.

Commiserations to the Mixed foursomes team who lost to Co Sligo 3-2 and the Pierce Purcell team who lost 3.5-1.5 to Enniscrone.
In a contrast of fortune, well done to Brendan Gaffney and his Jimmy Bruen team who defeated Ballaghaderreen on a scoreline of 4.5-0.5. They will play Tubbercurry on Saturday at 3pm in the north zone final with 3 matches at home. All support is welcome! 

Club Matchplay
Round three matches in the King Harmon are to be played by Saturday July 2nd.

Get Into Golf
The Get Into Golf with Rory Program for school children is now through week 3 of 5. This week the professional is unable to conduct the sessions, however some adult members will accompany the participants on the course to play a fun scramble event. Professional Pete Duignan will return on June 29th and July 6th to provide the final two sessions of the program.

Results
The 18 Hole Stroke for gents which took place last Sunday was won by Lorcan Egan (10) 64 , 2nd Seamus Gallagher (20) 66, Gross Liam Whyte (12) 79 & 3rd Michael Reid (16) 66. 
The President's Prize to the Ladies was also held on Sunday. First place went to Liz Dwyer, in 2nd Joyce Boles, Gross Tish Perry & 3rd Claire Cryan. 
The scramble played on Friday evening was won by Brendan Gaffney, Michael Reid & Marie Hanmore Cawley.
Thursday's Mens Open Competition (May 26th) was won by Sean Heslin 28pts with in second Pat Conroy 26pts. 
Tuesday's Ladies 18 Hole (May 24th) was won by Lady Captain Tish Perry while in second was Carmel McGarry. 

Fixtures
The President's Prize will take place this Sunday June 5th. Best wishes to Brendan Gaffney for a successful day. 
The weekend will open with the President's Scramble on Friday Evening. The draw will be at 6.30pm with a shotgun start at 6.45pm.

Club Matchplay
Round 2 matches of the King Harmon Cup are to be completed by this Saturday. Well done to those who have already progressed. One result of note was Shane Loftus' victory over the 2015 winner Niall Kearney.
In the foursomes matchplay, holders of the title, Jonathan Egan & Seamus Gallagher have progressed to the final at the expense of Michael Simon & Vincent Egan. The second semi-final has yet to be played. 

Interclub Golf
Well done to the Pierce Purcell team who beat Castle Dargan 3-2 on Saturday, with one of our wins coming on the 19th hole at home. They're next match is a home tie against the winners of Co Sligo & Enniscrone to be played by June 19th.
In the Mixed Foursomes, it appeared an early exit at the hands of Castle Dargan was our fate. However we have since learned of the fielding of an ineligible player on the opposition team. The penalty for such an offence is disqualification of the team. Consequently, we now played Co Sligo this upcoming Monday with 3 matches away.

Junior Golf
Golf lessons continue every Saturday morning from 11am- 1pm for junior members. 
The CGI's 'Get into Golf with Rory' Program commenced on Wednesday June 1st between 6pm and 9pm. It is not too late for those who missed the first evening to get involved. Contact 0860682116 for more information.

Update 30th May


Following on from the visits to some of the local primary schools last Tuesday, and an information night on Thursday last, our 'Get into Golf with Rory' Program in conjunction with the CGI will commence at Boyle Golf Club this Wednesday 1st June from 6pm.

The program is suitable for primary school pupils aged 8 and upwards.

We have had a large number expressing interest in this program already, with many of the spaces now filled, however some vacancies remain.

 The cost of the program is €40 per child, with a goodie bag and certificate from the CGI being presented to each participant on completion of the program.

Equipment is not required, however those who have some should bring it along. 
If you are a parent/guardian of a child of the relevant age, and wish for them to participate, please contact the number on the promotional poster.

PGA Professional Peter Duignan from County Longford Golf Club will conduct the one hour sessions each Wednesday for five weeks.*
*The entire program will be in compliance with the child safeguarding policies as laid out by the Confederation of Golf in Ireland

Last Sunday’s Gents Competition was won by Charlie O’Donnell (9) 39 pts, 2nd Michael Reid (16) 38 pts, Gross Gary Carty (6) 31 pts (gross score), & 3rd Pat Brogan (20) 35 pts.
Thursday’s Gent’s 12 Hole Open Competition was won by Michael Gilmartin 26pts, while in 2nd was Pat Conroy 25 pts. 
The winning team from Friday Evening’s Scramble was Michael Simon, Michael Reid, Michael Gilmartin & Marie Gallagher.  
In Ladies Golf News, the Countess of Granard Foursomes held last weekend was won by the pairing of Joey Mullaney and Carmel Conlon. The runners up were Mandy Toolan and Marie Hanmore Cawley.

Fixtures
On Sunday next, May 29th, there will be two 18 hole stroke competitions, one for ladies & one for gents. These are the President’s Prize to Ladies and Round 8 of our Golfer of the Year Competition respectively. 
As usual, a 12 hole open competition will take place on Thursday for gents and a scramble on Friday Evening for all members. 

Interclub Golf
Commiserations to the Seniors Team who were beaten by Strandhill on a scoreline of 3.5-1.5 last Wednesday. On a more positive note, a massive well done to Brendan Gaffney and his Jimmy Bruen team who defeated a Strandhill outfit, a club regarded as one of the kingpins of Connacht golf at that level. Shane O’Dowd & Jonathan Egan provided the decisive winning point away from home after fighting back from 3 down to seal victory on the 19th. Next up is neighbouring 9 holer Ballaghaderreen. 
There was disappointment for the ladies Revive Active Fourball team who were beaten 3-2 by Ballinrobe on Monday. 
Upcoming matches include ties against Castle Dargan in the Mixed Foursomes on Wednesday and again in the Pierce Purcell on Saturday. Both of these are home draws. 

Club Matchplay
Round 1 matches in the King Harmon Cup are now completed. Well done to all who have progressed. The deadline for round 2 matches to be played by is Saturday June 4th. 

Get into Golf Schools Program
On Tuesday some representatives from the club visited two primary schools in Boyle along with the CGIs participation officer Justin O’Byrne. The main aim of this program is to give kids their first taste of golf in a fun and safe environment, and to invite them to come along with their parents to an introductory night at the golf club this Thursday evening at 7.30pm for one hour. Last Sunday’s 18 Hole S/Ford was won by Martin Wynne (12) 42pts, in second was Michael Bannon 42pts, the gross prize was claimed by Brendan Gaffney, and in 3rd position was Michael Gilmartin (18) 38pts. 
The Golfer of the Year competition is now through round 5, and an updated leaderboard will be a available on the website shortly. 
Thursday’s 12 Hole Mens Open was won by Pat Conroy 26pts, 2nd Lorcan Egan 24pts, 3rd Seamus Gallagher 23pts.
Friday’s Scramble was won by John McGuinn, Pat Conroy, Marie Gallagher.

The PGA Tankard 18 Hole S/Ford (G.O.Y. Round 6) will take place on Sunday May 15th. The winner will represent the club in the regional qualifier pro-am at Royal Tara in August. 

Course Maintenance
Hollow coring of the greens has been completed on the greens today and volunteers are required to clear the cores and brush in the sand.

Junior golf lessons will recommence on Saturday next May 14th from 11am to 1pm.

Update 3rd May

The first major of the year took place last weekend. It is one which is unique in our golfing calendar as both ladies and gents compete for the top prize.
After 27 holes, Seamus Gallagher emerged the victor by 2 shots with a total score of 96 having qualified on 65 nett. This is Seamus’ second major in the space of two years, having claimed the 2014 Captain’s Prize. A full list of winners are as follows:

The weekend opened on a positive note with the successful running of our Quiz and Curry Night on Friday. Update 25th April

Last Sunday saw the annual Voucher Competition take place. Well done to Sean Heslin who won the men's voucher with a score of 63 nett off a 10 handicap, in 2nd was Niall Kearney 65, Gross Brendan Gaffney (8 Over Par), 3rd Sean McLoughlin 66. In the Ladies Lucky Strike competition, first place went to Paula Cull, 2nd Tish Perry, Gross Peggy Feely, 3rd Annette Bartlett. 

Other results from last week include the Men's Open on Thursday last which was won by Michael Gilmartin 20pts, 2nd Michael Rush 19pts, 3rd Michael Reid 19pts.

Friday Evening's Scramble was won by Terry Bright, Susan O'Mahaney & Tommy King. 

Aisling Gaughran won the Ladies White Elephant 9 Hole Stableford last Tuesday with 19 points. In second place was Marie Hanmore-Cawley with 18 points.

Competitions for this week are Thursday's Men's Open and a Scramble on Friday Evening. Following the Scramble, there will be a Quiz and Curry Night in the clubhouse. Tickets for this are €15 which includes a free entry into the scramble, and can be purchased from any committee member. Food is from 8pm and the quiz will commence at 9pm. It promises to be a great social event and has become somewhat of a regular event in our social calender in recent years. Thanks to Susan and Brendan for organising it. 

The first major of the year, the Committee Cup, will be competed for next weekend. Ladies will take to the course on Saturday in attempt to qualify for the playoff on Sunday Evening. Gents will play on Sunday also with the intention of qualifying for an extra 9 holes that evening. Holder Charlie O'Donnell will in no doubt be eager to retain the title. Tee times are filling up fast so place your name on the online timesheet you wish to play. 

The March/April draws took place in the clubhouse on Sunday evening.

Belated Birthday wishes to Tony Murphy who celebrated reaching a significant milestone, surrounded by a large circle of family and friends in our clubhouse recently. It was a reminder of how suitable the venue is for such events and it is available for bookings all year round. Contact the club if you wish more information.

Our Interclub season opens this Friday with an away fixture against Ballinamore in the GUI All-Ireland Fourball Competition. Our side is captained by Willie Tiernan. Best of luck to all concerned! 
Sunday's GOY Round 2 18 Hole Stroke was won by Vincent Egan 65 nett, 2nd Seamus Gallagher 66, Gross Patrick Egan 75, 3rd David Wynne 67. 
Last Thurday's Mens Open Competition was won by Patrick Egan 19 pts (c/b), 2nd Sean Heslin 19 pts & 3rd was Michael Reid 18 pts. 
Friday Evening's Scramble was won by Brendan Gaffney, Gerry O'Hara & Annette Bartlett. 

Both Thursday's Men's Competition and Friday Evening Social Golf continues this week. 
On Sunday next April 24th, the Ladies and Gents Voucher Prize will be competed for. The format will be an 18 hole strokeplay competition. All tee times must be booked online.
